Microsoft has announced a partnership with Viz.ai, a pioneer in AI-powered disease detection and intelligent care coordination, to integrate their AI models and care coordination solutions with the Precision Imaging Network, a component of Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare. This partnership aims to provide a comprehensive solution that incorporates more than 48 AI models into clinical workflows, thereby delivering actionable insights to enhance patient outcomes. A broad spectrum of specialized care areas, such as oncology, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, spine, emergency, and neurosciences, is addressed by the AI models. Radiologists can produce more accurate reports, expedite communication with treating physicians, and enhance care team collaboration by utilizing Viz.ai's 13 care coordination algorithms to support patients with a variety of acute and non-acute diseases.
The collaboration leverages Microsoft’s PowerScribe radiology reporting solution, PowerShare image-sharing network, and Microsoft Azure's scale and security to enhance clinician efficiency and provide integrated imaging insights. With more than 17,000 healthcare facilities connected to PowerShare, the integration requires minimal setup to access Viz.ai and other third-party AI solutions. Viz.ai, which serves over 1,700 hospitals and health systems in the U.S. and Europe, uses AI algorithms to increase diagnosis and care speed, optimizing care pathways and improving outcomes. This partnership enables health systems to address critical healthcare needs, offering a unified platform with extensive capabilities to improve patient care.
