Corporate Responsibility

Consensus formed a DEI Council in 2022, consisting of 14 employees from diverse backgrounds. The council’s mission is to promote thoughtful discussion and organize training and events to foster awareness of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace. The overall goal is to create a community where every employee feels they belong and can contribute to the company’s success.

In 2023, Consensus launched the Do-Good Challenge, a program encouraging employees to volunteer with various local organizations. That year, 44 employees contributed a total of 601 hours to support causes such as food banks, animal shelters, schools, and homeless shelters. The company also made donations to four non-profit organizations at the conclusion of the challenge. In 2024, employees have already contributed over 500 volunteer hours.

During the holidays, Consensus organizes a toy drive in partnership with the YMCA. In 2023, employees collectively donated 79 toys and volunteered to help wrap gifts.

The company is also committed to sustainability through initiatives such as digital faxing, which offers environmental advantages by significantly reducing paper waste and energy consumption. This shift allows businesses to send documents electronically rather than using traditional fax machines.

In addition, Consensus is working to educate regulators and draft data-sharing requirements that address health equity challenges. The company advocates for recognizing the lack of technical resources in care settings that treat vulnerable patient populations, such as substance abuse centers and community clinics, many of which lack certified EHRs and will face compliance challenges.
