This year’s list features individuals whose leadership has been a driving force behind some of the most significant advancements in healthcare. These CEOs have inspired their teams to push boundaries, fostering cultures of innovation that have led to transformative breakthroughs in medical devices, digital health, software, biotechnology, and beyond.

Their ability to lead through change, inspire their organizations, and innovate in the face of healthcare’s most pressing challenges has positioned their companies as leaders in the field, driving progress to improve patient care and global health.

Among this year’s awardees, Steve Chapman, CEO of Natera, is recognized for his leadership in genetic testing, overseeing the launch of 20 transformative products in oncology, women’s health, and organ health, including the Signatera oncology test and the Prospera transplant assessment test. Thomas Sandgaard, CEO of Zynex Medical, is celebrated for his work in medical technology, leading the company’s growth in pain management and rehabilitation through solutions like wearable electrotherapy devices that help improve patient outcomes. Randall Lipps, CEO of Omnicell, stands out for his expertise in pharmacy care, revolutionizing medication management with solutions that enhance operational efficiency, support compliance, and reduce costs across health systems globally.

1. Steve Chapman
Company: Natera
Title: Chief Executive Officer

Steve Chapman is the Chief Executive Officer of Natera, a global leader in cell-free DNA and genetic testing in oncology, women’s health, and organ health. He also serves on the company’s board of directors.

Chapman is a leading authority on the commercialization of genetic testing. Under his leadership, Natera has launched 20 products that have transformed patient care, including two of the fastest growing genetic tests of all time. The company’s suite of products includes the Signatera oncology test for molecular residual disease, the Prospera transplant assessment test, the Renasight kidney gene panel which screens for genetic causes of chronic kidney disease, and the highly differentiated Panorama test serving patients in the non-invasive prenatal testing market. 

Before his appointment as CEO in 2019, Chapman held a number of other leadership positions at Natera, including Chief Operating Officer. Earlier in his career, he worked at Genzyme Genetics. He began his career as a researcher in the department of human genetics at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he designed arrays identifying SNPs associated with multiple sclerosis. 

Chapman is an author on multiple scientific papers and holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics from UCLA.

 

2. Thomas Sandgaard
Company: Zynex Medical
Title: Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Thomas Sandgaard has been the Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Zynex since founding the company in 1996. He has previously held management positions with companies such as ITT, Siemens, GN Danavox, Dataco, and Philips. Most of his work has been in the areas of international sales and distribution, technology transfers, mergers and marketing management in the semiconductor, telecommunications, data communications, and medical equipment industries.

Mr. Sandgaard is also the Founder and CEO of Sandgaard Capital, a private equity investment group and family office. He is also the Founder and President of the Sandgaard Foundation, seeking to address the United States tragic opioid and fentanyl crisis by helping to fund initiatives that save lives from overdose, help people escape the cycle of relapse, and support victims and their families.

Mr. Sandgaard holds a degree in electronics engineering from Denmark’s Odense University of Engineering and an MBA from Copenhagen Business School. 

 

3. Randall Lipps
Company: Omnicell
Title: Chief Executive Officer and Founder

Randall Lipps is the Chairman, President, Chief Executive Officer, and Founder of Omnicell, a global leader in transforming the pharmacy care delivery model. Inspired by inefficiencies he observed during his daughter's hospitalization, Mr. Lipps founded Omnicell in 1992, leveraging his background in airline operations to improve medication management and patient care. 

Under his leadership, Omnicell has grown from a single product to a comprehensive portfolio of solutions that are helping health systems worldwide to uncover cost savings, improve labor efficiency, establish new revenue streams, enhance supply chain control, support compliance, and move closer to the industry-defined vision of the autonomous pharmacy. 

A member of the Board of Trustees of the American Nurses Foundation, Mr. Lipps champions community impact through Omnicell Cares and personal philanthropy focused on poverty, education, and healthcare. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in economics and business administration from Southern Methodist University.

 

4. Charles Brown
Company: LifeLabs
Title: President and Chief Executive Officer

Charles Brown is the President and Chief Executive Officer of LifeLabs Medical Laboratory, Canada’s leading provider of laboratory diagnostic information and digital health connectivity systems, enabling patients and healthcare practitioners to diagnose, treat, monitor, and prevent disease. Since joining LifeLabs in 2018, Charles has worked to evolve LifeLabs into a commercially driven organization that brings customer-centred value to market. 

By showcasing the possibility of delivering value-based outcomes, Charles empowers his employees to make a difference and facilitate innovative change. During COVID-19, Charles’ leadership empowered the team to quickly pivot and adapt to respond to the pandemic by providing essential COVID-19 testing, while maintaining full operation of lab testing and diagnostic work.

Previously, Brown was the President of The Source and Executive Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Bell. Brown also served as the Chair of Kids Help Phone and for the University of Toronto-Scarborough’s Campaign Cabinet. He was also a past member and supporter of the United Way of Toronto and York Region’s Campaign Cabinet. 

Brown holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at Western University. He was previously recognized as a Top 25 Biotechnology CEO by the Healthcare Technology Report in both 2021 and 2022.

 

5. Devdatt Kurdikar
Company: embecta
Title: President and Chief Executive Officer

Devdatt (Dev) Kurdikar serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of embecta, a global diabetes care company with a 100-year legacy in insulin delivery. Kurdikar led the business through its successful spinoff from BD in 2022 to become an independent, publicly-traded company that serves 30 million people in more than 100 countries.

Since the spinoff, embecta has strengthened its core business, completed major stand-up programs and invested in growth, exceeding expectations across key financial metrics while navigating macroeconomic issues that included historic inflation, a rapidly rising interest rate environment, geopolitical conflicts, and supply chain and labor issues.

Prior to leading embecta, Dev served as President and CEO of Cardiac Science Corporation, a leader in the manufacturing and marketing of automated external defibrillators. He also served as Vice President and General Manager of Men’s Health at Boston Scientific and American Medical Systems.

Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Marketing at Baxter International, where over the course of 11 years he held leadership roles of increasing responsibility in finance, strategy and integration, R&D planning and operations. He began his career as a senior research engineer at The Monsanto Company.

Dev is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Zimmer Biomet Holdings, AdvaMed, and LMG Holdings. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Bombay, a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Washington State University, a PhD in chemical engineering from Purdue University, and an MBA from Washington University.

 

6. Matthew Trerotola
Company: Enovis Corporation
Title: Chief Executive Officer

Matt Trerotola is the Chief Executive Officer of Enovis, a position he has held since 2015 (when the company was known as Colfax), and Chairman of the Board of Directors since 2023. Under his leadership, the company has undergone a transformative journey, driven by his focus on improving patient outcomes and advancing innovation in the healthcare sector.

Under his leadership, the company solidified its corporate capabilities, developed a powerful business system called Enovis Growth Excellence, and continues to pursue a disciplined M&A approach. This dynamic combination has powered Enovis’ global growth and expansion, with the addition of 20 new acquisitions since 2019. 

In 2022, Mr. Trerotola led the company’s rebrand, spearheading double-digit growth across many business units and dozens of product launches, gaining recognition for both the ARVIS augmented reality system and MotionIQ recovery app. Enovis is a leader in the medtech industry, with more than 1,000 total medical devices, 1,200 patents held, and over 7,000 employees globally.

Prior to joining Enovis, Mr. Trerotola was an Executive Vice President at DuPont, where he was responsible for $6.3 billion of revenue in safety and protection and electronic materials. He also held several leadership roles at Danaher, including serving as Vice President and Group Executive for the $2.5 billion life sciences platform. During his tenure in these roles, Mr. Trerotola strengthened talent, greatly accelerated organic growth, improved profitability, and made strategic acquisitions. He also serves on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware.

 

7. Kyoko (Kay) Deguchi
Company: PHC Holdings
Title: President, Representative Director, and Chief Executive Officer

Kyoko (Kay) Deguchi is the Chief Executive Officer of PHC Holdings Corporation, a global collection of healthcare businesses referred to collectively as PHC Group. Together, PHC Group companies are focused on precision technology that powers the future of healthcare. PHC Group companies and brands include Ascensia (diabetes management), Epredia (cancer diagnostic solutions), PHCbi (cell preservation and growth), PHC IVD (in vitro diagnostics), Wemex (healthcare IT), LSI Medience (clinical testing), and Mediford (drug development). 

Kay joined PHC Group as an independent external board director in 2021, bringing over two decades of experience as a business leader, including in the healthcare industry. She became CEO in April 2024, and in her first six months launched an updated vision and value creation plan outlining PHC Group’s new global strategy to focus future growth on diagnostics and life sciences. During this time, Kay engaged with more than 500 employees through roundtables across PHC Group’s subsidiaries, discussing how the company can enhance its collective impact on health through precision technology.

As PHC Group’s first female CEO, Kay is a modern leader for an increasingly diverse company and industry. She prioritizes inclusion and is a vocal proponent of the concept of “One PHC,” a company mindset that seeks to create synergies across divisions and disciplines to create greater value for researchers, healthcare providers, and the patients they serve. 

 

8. Kevin Adams
Company: UST HealthProof
Title: Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Kevin Adams is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of UST HealthProof, where he leads the transformation of healthcare operations, processes, and products. Under his leadership, UST HealthProof has grown into a global organization with nearly 5,000 employees. Kevin's strategic vision and commitment to innovation, agility, and customer-centricity have been instrumental in identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities. Alongside a team of seasoned industry experts, Kevin delivers platform-based solutions, business advisory services, and system implementations that drive significant advancements in healthcare.

Kevin’s expertise in building successful businesses is evident in his ability to inspire and lead diverse teams, foster innovation, and maintain a strong focus on customer needs. As a pioneer in implementing BPaaS in healthcare, his forward-thinking approach has led to the adoption of solutions that empower health plans to overcome complex operational challenges and compete in an evolving market. Before founding UST HealthProof in 2016, Kevin served as the Chief Technology Officer for UST Global Healthcare, where he led IT strategy and business direction. He also held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Edifecs, where he helped the company navigate and leverage ongoing technological changes. Kevin’s extensive experience working with and for health plans and his ability to lead a global organization with integrity and vision make him a standout leader in the healthcare technology industry.

 

9. Jason Brown
Company: MRO
Title: Chief Executive Officer

Jason Brown is the Chief Executive Officer of MRO, a company specializing in the exchange of clinical data within the healthcare ecosystem. MRO works on behalf of providers, payers, and users of clinical data to streamline and manage the exchange process through advanced solutions and technology. With a 22-year legacy, MRO combines a technology-driven approach with a client-first service foundation, providing healthcare organizations with scalable, enterprise-wide clinical data solutions.

Before joining MRO, Jason was CEO of Discovery Health Partners, a provider of payment and revenue integrity technology solutions to health plans and was acquired by MultiPlan in March 2021. Prior to that, Jason helped build several healthcare technology companies, including Evolent Health, Valence Health and MedAssets. Jason’s early career experience includes time working at The Boston Consulting Group, The Home Depot, Goldman Sachs, and Vista Equity Partners. He is a graduate of Morehouse College and holds a MBA from Harvard Business School.

 

10. Terrie Curran
Company: Phathom Pharmaceuticals
Title: President and Chief Executive Officer

Terrie Curran is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Phathom Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing novel treatments for gastrointestinal diseases since 2019. Phathom’s mission is to transform the treatment landscape and improve the lives of patients suffering from acid-related GI disorders. 

Under Curran’s leadership, the company has established a strong commercial organization and introduced the first new class of treatment for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) in over 30 years, marking a significant advancement in the field of acid-related GI disorders.

Curran is the former President, Global Inflammation and Immunology (I&I) Franchise and member of the Executive Committee at Celgene Corporation and has more than 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Curran joined Celgene in 2013 as the U.S. Commercial Head of the I&I Franchise and built the capabilities and recruited the teams that executed the successful launch of OTEZLA. 

Prior to joining Celgene, she served as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Women’s Health at Merck & Co. She currently serves on the Board of Arcutis Biotherapeutics, and previously served on the Board of Myovant Sciences and H. Lundbeck A/S. Curran holds graduate and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Technology Sydney.

 

11. BJ Schaknowski
Company: Symplr
Title: Chief Executive Officer

BJ Schaknowski is the Chief Executive Officer of Symplr, bringing over 20 years of experience in leadership roles across various functions within the software industry. Before joining Symplr, BJ served as the Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at Vertafore, a leading provider of insurance technology. He also spent four years at LexisNexis Software Solutions, where he advanced to the role of SVP of Marketing, Sales & Services. Earlier in his career, BJ held senior leadership positions at CA Technologies, Intuit, and Sage Software.

BJ is committed to creating balanced value for employees, customers, and shareholders within the Symplr community. He has a strong focus on philanthropy and was recently appointed to the Susan G. Komen Board of Directors, joining a select group of executives from various industries who help govern and advise the organization. BJ is also a Fellow of the American College of Health Data Management.

BJ holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the State University of New York at Geneseo and an MBA at the University of Georgia Terry College of Business. Schaknowski also served in the United States Marine Corps infantry as an enlisted reservist for eight years. 

 

12. Scott Turicchi
Company: Consensus Cloud Solutions
Title: Chief Executive Officer

Scott Turicchi is the Chief Executive Officer of Consensus Cloud Solutions, a provider of digital cloud fax technology and interoperability solutions. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, the company has expanded its services to include artificial intelligence and secure data exchange, aimed at automating workflows and improving operational efficiencies. Consensus also upholds industry compliance standards, serving a range of heavily regulated industries, including healthcare, the public sector, financial services, insurance, real estate, and manufacturing.

Turicchi joined J2 Global in 2000 and eventually led the spinoff of Consensus Cloud Solutions in 2021, where he currently oversees a staff of nearly 525 employees. At Consensus, Scott leads efforts to enhance how organizations exchange information securely through cloud-based solutions, including digital communication, secure messaging, patient query, electronic signature capabilities, and tools for data transformation and artificial intelligence.

During his more than two-decade tenure with J2 Global, Scott was elevated from Executive Vice President of Corporate Development to CFO and ultimately was named President and CFO in 2008, responsible for all finance, merger and acquisitions activity and public company matters. Under his leadership, J2 Global successfully acquired and integrated approximately 200 businesses across its digital media and cloud services segments, leading to revenue growth that reached $1.5 billion in FY 2021.

 

13. Chris Mansi
Company: Viz.ai
Title: Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Chris Mansi, MD is Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Viz.ai, a leader in AI-powered disease detection and care coordination. Viz.ai’s mission is to improve access to life saving treatments for more than 230 million people that it covers. Today, the Viz.ai One Platform has 30 care pathways, is adopted in more than 1,700 hospitals, and collaborates with 10 of the leading, global pharmaceutical and medical device companies. 

Dr. Mansi co-founded Viz.ai out of Stanford in 2016 with a mission of using artificial intelligence to increase access to life-saving treatments. Under his leadership, Viz.ai has achieved major AI industry milestones, including two de novo approvals by the FDA for AI computer aided triage in 2018 and cardiovascular machine learning-based notification software in 2023. Viz.ai was also the first AI company to be granted CMS reimbursement via the New Technology Add-on Payment (NTAP) for AI in 2020.

 

14. Alex Martin
Company: Abcuro
Title: Chief Executive Officer

Alex Martin is the Chief Executive Officer of Abcuro, a late-stage clinical biotechnology company developing first-in-class immunotherapies for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and cancer through precise modulation of highly cytotoxic T cells. Abcuro’s first-in-class anti- KLRG1 antibody, ulviprubart, being studied in a registrational Phase 2/3 clinical trial, has the potential to stabilize the immune system, halting disease progression. The company’s focus begins with inclusion body myositis (IBM), a rare muscle disease with no current treatments but Abcuro believes this approach can be applied to other autoimmune diseases characterized by cytotoxic T cells as well as cancer. 

Coming on board in 2022, Alex along with Chief Medical Officer Jeff Wilkins, revamped the company’s clinical roadmap initiating both a Phase 2/3 study of ulviprubart in patients living with IBM and a 1/2 study of ulviprubart in patients living with T Cell Large Granular Lymphocytic Leukemia (T-LGLL.) Under Alex’s leadership, Abcuro raised $155 million in a Series B financing in 2023, bringing the company to around $245 million raised overall. 

Alex brings over 30 years of experience building companies and closing transactions in the biopharmaceutical industry. Most recently he served as CEO of Palladio Biosciences, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company which was acquired by Centessa Pharmaceuticals. He also previously served as CEO of Realm Therapeutics, acquired by ESSA Pharma. 

Alex was also Chief Operating Officer of Intercept Pharmaceuticals, and Chief Finance Officer of BioXell, acquired by Cosmo Pharmaceuticals. He began his career at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, where he held roles of increasing responsibility in marketing and business development and later joined Novartis as Vice President of Global Business Development and Licensing. 

Alex is Chairman of the board of VERALOX Therapeutics and a Board Director at ESSA Pharmaceuticals. He is an active coach and mentor to other senior executives and a guest lecturer at Wharton and Columbia Business School on biotech, entrepreneurship, and raising capital. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

 

15. Liran Belenzon
Company: BenchSci
Title: Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Liran Belenzon is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BenchSci, a platform focused on improving drug discovery through artificial intelligence. Founded in 2015, BenchSci’s ASCEND platform aims to address the challenges of productivity in the pharmaceutical industry. The company has rapidly expanded from its original four co-founders to a team of over 350 employees, raising more than $200 million from prominent investors. BenchSci collaborates with 16 of the world’s top 20 pharmaceutical companies, over 4,500 academic institutions, and more than 50,000 scientists.

Before founding BenchSci, Belenzon achieved his commerce and law degrees and sold his first startup. He then immigrated to Canada to pursue an MBA at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. During his time at Rotman, he participated in the Creative Destruction Lab, where he connected with three fellow PhD students who shared his vision for leveraging AI to enhance drug discovery. As CEO, Belenzon is dedicated to making a positive impact on the world through the advancement of life-saving research.

 

16. Kevin McRaith
Company: Welldoc
Title: President and Chief Executive Officer

Kevin McRaith is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Welldoc, where he leads the development and commercialization of the company’s AI-driven digital health solution for people living with cardiometabolic conditions. The platform provides personalized, real-time multi-condition coaching across diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, weight management, and prediabetes. 

A seasoned digital health innovator and strategic leader with a proven track record of driving transformative change within healthcare, McRaith has played a key role in Welldoc’s growth and development. He has helped guide the company in identifying emerging opportunities, contributing to its diverse business model across the digital health industry. Welldoc provides scalable solutions that support various healthcare organizations, including health plans, health systems, life sciences, and employers. The company works with a growing customer base that includes global companies integrating Welldoc's digital health solutions into their care models and product offerings.

Prior to joining Welldoc, McRaith held senior executive roles at Human Genome Sciences, Genentech and Abbott after starting his career at Baxter Healthcare. He has over 25 years of experience in the life sciences sector including biotech, pharmaceuticals, hospital supplies, and digital health.

 

17. Lee Ann Fachko
Company: Burlington Medical
Title: Chief Executive Officer

Lee Ann Fachko is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Burlington Medical, a global leader in the radiation protection industry focused on innovation and providing solutions to medical professionals exposed to ionizing radiation while working within the healthcare setting. 

The company delivers products manufactured in the U.S. that provide both safety and comfort with a focus on sustainability. Fachko has steered the company’s strategic growth through the acquisition of key competitors, implementing vertical integration initiatives to take control of supply chain and production processes, and continued investments in automation and delivering technology and data solutions that elevate commercial performance, enhance the customer experience, and expand customer reach.

Fachko joined Burlington Medical as the Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. She was later promoted to Chief Operating Officer in charge of Burlington’s global manufacturing teams. Since her appointment to President and CEO, Fachko has made a significant impact in strengthening the company’s position as a global leader in offering a wide range of radiation protection garments for medical providers in Cardiac Cath labs, radiology, interventional radiology, surgery, and other high-exposure environments. 

Fachko has worked with the leadership team to focus the company’s business strategy around four key strategic initiatives: people first, one company, innovation, and financial responsibility. Under these initiatives, the team has focused efforts that drive growth through creating a people centric culture encouraging empowerment and accountability, advancing data analytics and system integration, and investing in R&D efforts that support eco-friendly radiation protective solutions.

Prior to Burlington, Fachko spent 10 years as National Sales Director of Beekley Medical Corporation. Before that, she was the Director of Customer Service for Life Technologies, where she led the global life science company’s customer service team. Fachko holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Fredonia. 

 

18. Matthew Hill
Company: Elegen
Title: Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Matt Hill, PhD, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Elegen, a privately-held company based in the San Francisco Bay Area, focused on accelerating genetic medicine and synthetic biology workflows through innovative cell-free DNA manufacturing technology.

Hill’s career began at Monsanto and progressed through leadership positions, culminating in his role as VP of R&D at Natera, where he co-invented the company’s core technology, contributed to its successful IPO in 2015, and led the commercialization of several prenatal diagnostic products and liquid biopsy oncology tests. With over 13 peer-reviewed scientific publications and nearly two dozen patents and applications, Hill brings extensive experience in innovation across the healthcare continuum.

Frustrated by delays in obtaining custom DNA for discovery workflows, Hill founded Elegen in 2017 with a vision to eliminate DNA bottlenecks. Combining commercial experience and scientific expertise, he innovated every step of the DNA-building process to manufacture long, high-accuracy, complex DNA more quickly.

Under Hill’s leadership, Elegen completed a Series A financing round in 2021 to scale its disruptive technology. In 2023, the company launched ENFINIA DNA, offering industry-leading length, NGS-verified accuracy, and speed to accelerate discovery workflows in the biopharma, agbio, and synbio industries.

In 2024, Elegen raised a $35 million Series B funding round and released a product enhancement for manufacturing high-complexity DNA, including sequences previously rejected by other providers. In addition, Elegen secured a $35 million collaboration with GSK to support the development of mRNA-based vaccines and genetic medicines. 

 

19. Lennie Sliwinski
Company: Trusted Health
Title: Chief Executive Officer

Lennie Sliwinski is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Trusted Health, where he leverages his extensive background in technology and healthcare to drive innovation and enhance workforce management solutions. 

Prior to joining Trusted Health, Sliwinski was the second member of the performance marketing and analytics team at Hired, a curated marketplace connecting job seekers with top companies. There, he developed and managed a multi-channel candidate acquisition program, overseeing a $30 million budget across 17 markets and acquiring over 15,000 new job seekers weekly across North America, EMEA, and APAC. 

Sliwinski holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University, a JD from Cornell Law School, and is a licensed attorney in the state of New York.

 

20. Jordan Feldman
Company: Rightway
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Jordan Feldman is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rightway, a company he founded to address key challenges in the medical and pharmacy sectors. Gustin brings 25 years of experience to his current role. Before joining Genoa Healthcare, he served as SVP of Inorganic Growth and Transformation at OptumInsight. Before that he was President of the Technology Solutions Division at Optum360. Earlier in his career he worked with RBC Capital Markets in investment banking. Gustin graduated from the University of Minnesota in Carlson School of Management with an MBA in finance and from Colorado College with an undergraduate degree in economics.

 

48. Barry Greene
Company: Sage Therapeutics
Title: President and Chief Executive Officer

Barry Greene is the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors at Sage Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing brain health medicines. Sage has developed the only two FDA-approved treatments for postpartum depression and is advancing a pipeline to address unmet needs in brain health. Greene joined Sage in 2020, bringing more than 30 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Sage, he served as President of Alnylam Pharmaceuticals since 2007, and previously held the role of Chief Operating Officer after joining the company in 2003.

Prior to his tenure at Alnylam, Greene was the General Manager of Oncology at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, where he led global strategy and execution for its oncology business, culminating in the successful U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval and launch of VELCADE (bortezomib) in mid-2003. 

Prior to joining Millennium, Greene served as Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer for Mediconsult.com, a healthcare consulting company. Earlier in Greene’s career, he held multiple leadership positions at AstraZeneca, and was a Partner at Andersen Consulting, where he was responsible for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology marketing and sales practice. Greene holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

 

49. Murali Aravamudan

Murali Aravamudan is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nference, a life sciences startup focused on transforming healthcare by making biomedical knowledge computable through its artificial intelligence software platform. A serial entrepreneur, inventor, and engineer, Aravamudan has built successful technology companies in the media and telecom sectors. In addition to leading Nference, he serves as the CEO of its affiliate ventures Pramana and Vimana, and as Executive Chairman of the Board at Anumana.

Previously, Aravamudan co-founded Veveo, a company focused on enabling efficient content discovery on input-constrained devices like televisions and mobile phones. Before that, he was Vice President and General Manager of the Winphoria Division at Motorola, following the acquisition of Winphoria Networks, a company he founded in 2000 and led as CTO until its acquisition. Aravamudan helped raise $54 million in equity for Winphoria, which was acquired by Motorola for approximately $200 million. Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of the Communications Software Business at Lucent Technologies.

Aravamudan holds a master’s degree in electrical communication engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.

Brian Webster is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Kestra Medical Technologies, a privately held wearable medical device and digital healthcare company. With over 32 years of experience in the medical device industry, including 18 years as President and CEO, Webster leads Kestra in providing diagnostic monitoring and therapeutic technologies for cardiac patients. Kestra was founded in 2014 by leaders from the external (AED) and implantable (ICD) defibrillation industries.

Webster previously held executive positions including VP roles in operations, sales, and marketing. He brings broad knowledge of emergency medicine, the cardiac field, and the external defibrillation industry. Webster graduated from Seattle University with an MBA and from the University of Puget Sound with an undergraduate degree in business administration.
