Samsung to Launch Health Platform Linking Wearables with Doctor Care

Samsung Electronics has announced plans to develop a digital hub that will allow users to share health data directly with their doctors between appointments. The goal is to reduce the gap between clinical visits and ensure that recommendations from physicians are easier to follow. Dr. Hon Pak, Head of Samsung’s Digital Health team, said the company is focusing on integrating smartwatch-collected data into a central platform that encourages users to maintain health goals. “There are a lot of innovations out there, but it’s siloed,” Pak noted. “We think there’s a responsibility and a potential for bringing the experience into an ecosystem so that the users have a more simple experience rather than having 10 different apps to manage your condition.”

While the hub is still in development, Samsung announced several new health features as part of its One UI 8 update for Galaxy Watch devices. These include antioxidant level tracking, vascular load monitoring during sleep, race training tools, and improved sleep coaching. The beta program will begin this month in the U.S. and South Korea. Samsung is also working on future sensors for earbuds and non-invasive features for blood pressure and glucose tracking. Pak emphasized the shift in care models, saying, “The burden is now on the patients and the families that have to provide that care. So with that, we have to be in the home.”
