LifeMD, a provider of virtual healthcare services, has acquired key assets of Optimal Human Health MD, a virtual care provider specializing in women’s health, marking LifeMD’s official entry into this sector. The acquisition allows LifeMD to build a nationwide virtual care program addressing hormone health, bone density, metabolic wellness, and long-term care for women. The new services will operate through LifeMD’s digital platform and include lab partnerships, pharmacy fulfillment, and access to behavioral and nutritional care. This move aims to provide more accessible, insurance-covered care options for issues like perimenopause, menopause, and osteoporosis, which have historically been underserved in the U.S. healthcare system.
The transaction brings on board Optimal’s clinical team and its Founder, Dr. Doug Lucas, who is known for his work in hormone optimization and osteoporosis treatment. Dr. Lucas will lead the development of LifeMD’s women’s health strategy. He stated, “With increased awareness around menopause-related symptoms as well as conditions like osteoporosis—along with rising demand for personalized wellness solutions—I'm excited to expand the work we started at Optimal and deliver next-generation care through LifeMD.” The acquisition aligns with LifeMD’s broader plan to scale specialty care using its integrated national infrastructure.
