Jenn Adams Has a Track Record for Getting Healthcare Built

Some leaders grow businesses inside large corporations. Others help build them from the ground up. Jenn Adams has done both, and that’s exactly what August Bioservices needed.

As CEO of the Nashville-based CDMO, Adams is helping shape August into a reliable partner for pharmaceutical and biotech companies. The company specializes in sterile injectable development and manufacturing, with capabilities ranging from early drug discovery support to commercial vial, syringe, cartridge, and IV bag filling.

Before August, Adams built her career inside some of the healthcare industry’s largest, most complex organizations. She led a $270 million transfusion therapies division at Fenwal, helped drive AmerisourceBergen’s U.S. clinical products business from $58 million to $700 million in revenue, and held senior leadership roles at Baxter across sales and marketing. She’s worked alongside private equity teams, helping build and scale healthcare businesses at every stage.

“I think my own experience in building teams begins with an awareness of the areas where I need to fill gaps in my own knowledge and skill set,” Adams said in an interview. It’s that self-awareness, paired with three decades of healthcare leadership, that’s helped her shape August’s trajectory.

Since taking the helm, Adams has overseen major facility renovations, guided the company through two significant expansions, and built out a team of industry veterans. And, alongside her role as CEO, she serves as a board member and advisor in the healthcare sector—roles that reflect both sides of her career: large-scale operator and company builder.

The work ahead at August Bioservices depends on the same thing that’s driven Adams’ career: building the right team and leading it well.
