Apple Unveils Advanced Sleep and Hearing Health Features for Watch and AirPods Pro 2

Apple has introduced new health-focused features for Apple Watch and AirPods Pro 2, which are intended to improve the health of a person's sleep and hearing. A notable addition is the Breathing Disturbances metric, which employs the accelerometer of the Apple Watch to identify disruptions in the typical respiratory patterns of sleep. This groundbreaking feature will facilitate notifications for sleep apnea, subject to FDA and other global health authorities approval. By the end of this month, these notifications are anticipated to be accessible in over 150 countries, including the United States, the European Union, and Japan.

The Apple Watch currently provides a variety of sleep health features, including the ability to monitor respiratory rate and pulse rate overnight, as well as the ability to track one's sleep over time and achieve sleep objectives. The watch's capacity to promote overall health will be further improved by the inclusion of sleep apnea notifications. Apple has concurrently introduced new hearing test and hearing aid features for AirPods Pro 2, which are anticipated to be released in over 100 countries, including the United States and Germany.

The purpose of these features is to enhance the support available to individuals with hearing impairments. Apple's dedication to providing health solutions through its devices is further bolstered by these advancements, which address conditions that affect millions of individuals worldwide. Apple aims to empower users to exert greater control over their hearing and sleep health by incorporating sophisticated monitoring tools.
