Abridge Secures $250M Series D to Enhance AI in Healthcare Documentation

Abridge, a generative AI platform for clinical conversations, has raised $250 million in a Series D investment round. The funding was co-led by Elad Gil and IVP, with contributions from CapitalG, Bessemer Venture Partners, CVS Health Ventures, and others. This investment will support the development of AI capabilities and commercial growth to expand Abridge’s applications in healthcare systems. The company has surpassed 100 deployments across major U.S. health systems, including Duke Health, Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, and UNC Health. The AI platform helps clinicians generate comprehensive, billable clinical notes at the point of care, improving administrative efficiency and reducing clinician workload.

Abridge's new Contextual Reasoning Engine enhances documentation by integrating retrospective patient data, identifying medical problems, and aligning outputs with billing codes. The technology captures medical orders and integrates them into electronic health records. Abridge's deployment across healthcare systems, including academic institutions and children’s hospitals, supports more than 50 specialties and 28 languages. The company aims to reduce administrative burdens and improve the overall patient experience. With this investment, Abridge will continue to refine its AI models, strengthen its EHR integrations, and support healthcare providers across various care settings.
