WebMD Ignite has announced new enhancements to its care management solution, Coach, designed to help health plans improve member engagement and reduce operational costs. Coach now includes integrated SMS text messaging, enabling real-time communication between care managers and members through their preferred channels. This enhancement allows health plans to deliver timely, targeted health education, boost medication adherence, and promote preventive care while reducing hospital visits and readmissions. With most text messages read within minutes, the update offers a more effective alternative to traditional methods like calls and mail.
The upgraded platform also introduces a population-wide campaign feature, enabling health plans to conduct automated, large-scale outreach. Health teams can schedule messages, track engagement, and tailor educational content based on member demographics or local health events. Additional features include customizable branding, streamlined workflows, and opt-in/opt-out tools to support seamless operations.
