mPulse Applauds FCC’s Decision to Delay Consent Rule Implementation for Healthcare

mPulse, a provider of Health Experience and Insights (HXI) technology, has expressed strong support for the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) recent decision to grant a 12-month delay in implementing new Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) consent revocation rules. The limited waiver gives healthcare organizations more time to build and refine systems for managing consent processes without disrupting vital communications to patients and health plan members. The FCC cited a letter from mPulse, which detailed the operational challenges faced by healthcare providers due to the scale and complexity of their systems. The letter emphasized the risk of consumers missing important health-related messages if immediate compliance were enforced.

mPulse is currently developing a suite of modular solutions focused on TCPA compliance, including natural language understanding (NLU) for opt-out processing, integration with the Reassigned Numbers Database, and tools to manage opt-ins and opt-outs across communication channels. According to CEO Bob Farrell, "mPulse and the organizations we work closely with are committed to delivering the best experience for health consumers. This important move by the FCC ensures healthcare organizations have the time to upgrade and optimize their engagement strategies to continue to deliver robust and empowering consumer experiences."
