How MRO’s Jason Brown Gets it Right On Time, Every Time

Jason Brown’s career in health technology has been long, distinguished, and productive. Along the way, he’s made enough friends and admirers that at least one calls him “one of the coolest Health IT CEOs I know.” In the C-Suite world, that’s high praise.

Brown is the Chief Executive Officer at MRO, a healthcare data management company. Previously the CEO of Discovery Health Partners after stints at Evolent Health, Valence Health, and MedAssets, Brown oversees a company that’s making sure, as he said in a 2024 interview, “data can get to the right place in the right format. On time, every time.”

Speaking of time, MRO is saving it, having enabled the automated retrieval of Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), as the company announced in March. As a result, clients have experienced significant value with automated technology, including reducing turnaround times by over 90 percent, the company said.

Brown, who graduated from Harvard Business School and Morehouse College and joined MRO in February 2022, sees the company at the “epicenter” of the health tech industry, one that’s been inundated by AI in the last few years. Brown said the company is both developing its own AI solutions and working to help coordinate and standardize between client organizations as the industry begins to normalize.

That does, indeed, sound pretty cool.
