Henry Schein, a global leader in healthcare solutions for dental and medical professionals, revealed its plans to acquire Acentus, a nationwide supplier focused on Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs). This move strengthens the company’s homecare platform, which now boasts an annual revenue base of approximately $350 million. Acentus, with annual revenue of $35 million, is expected to bolster Henry Schein’s offerings in delivering CGM products directly to patients’ homes. After acquiring Prism Medical Products in 2021 and Shield Healthcare and Mini Pharmacy in 2023, Henry Schein continues to strategically expand into the homecare medical supplies industry with this purchase. While financial details remain undisclosed, the transaction is anticipated to close in the first quarter of 2025.
Henry Schein’s Chairman and CEO, Stanley M. Bergman, highlighted the growing demand for home-based healthcare and emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting clinics, health systems, and patients with reliable medical solutions. Acentus’ founders, including CEO Todd Cianfrocca, will join Henry Schein to integrate their expertise into its expanding home health business. With over 26,000 team members and a portfolio of 300,000 branded products, Henry Schein continues to innovate and deliver effective solutions that aim to enhance patient care and operational efficiency globally.
